The eclipse that came to Kosrae by Nick Zoa
On April 20, for the first time in recorded history, Kosrae experienced a total solar eclipse. Because the totality path of this eclipse crossed a lot of empty ocean, this rare hybrid eclipse was visible to only a few people in remote locations — Kosrae being one of those lucky places
For almost every Kosraean, this was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Working with the College of Micronesia and the government of Kosrae, I organized an Eclipse Cruise.
Kosrae had remarkably clear skies and the eclipse did not disappoint.
