A Fall Tour of Georgia With Expats And Bears

The trees of Georgia’s Sabaduri Forest spread a red ochre autumn carpet over its floor, awaiting a long winter’s slumber.

Over the weekend I went with a friend and a local ex-pat group from Tbilisi on a trip that included hiking among the fall colors of the Sabaduri Forest National Park and a visit to a nearby sanctuary for Georgian Brown Bears.

Zimbabwe Umuntu Permaculture Projects is organized to develop thriving permaculture gardens throughout Zimbabwe without the use of herbicides, insecticides or artificial fertilizers. I visited one of the organization’s primary projects in Mt. Darwin, central Zimbabwe, in March 2022, and was impressed with the size, scope and successes being achieved at the Mt. Darwin site under difficult conditions in Zimbabwe. Over the past two years I have made donations that helped to provide fencing and livestock for the site. You can help as well.
